WHAT TO DO WHEN “NO COIL DETECTED” APPEARS ON THE SCREEN?

Depending on the case, your electronic cigarette may display certain error messages. If the most recurrent is probably “Check Atomizer / No atomizer” other alerts may appear on the screen. This is for example the case of the mention “No Coil Detected”. If your electronic cigarette refuses to work after displaying this information, don’t panic, we have several explanations to provide you!

WHAT DOES THE MENTION “NO COIL DETECTED” DISPLAYED ON MY BOX MEAN?

Most of the mods and boxes currently on the market are equipped with a screen to display your settings and all the information relating to your vape. Most of the time, it gives indications on the power used, the value of the resistance of your reservoir, and the number of puffs taken during the day, but it also offers the possibility of alerting you by displaying error messages. If “No Coil Detected” appears on the screen, it simply means that your box does not detect the resistance installed in your tank.

WHERE DOES THIS ERROR MESSAGE COME FROM?

“No Coil Detected” will be displayed if you forgot to put a resistor in your clearomiser or if you don’t have an assembly in your atomiser. It is also possible that your resistance is not screwed in properly. But even if a resistor is already in place, the message may still appear, especially if the value of this resistor is too low or too high compared to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Finally, if your resistance is damaged, badly soaked or defective, the error message will also be likely to be displayed.

HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM?

Whether it is the wear of your resistance, a reference or a value error in ohm, you must first open the tank of your clearomizer or your atomizer to extract the resistance. Be sure to perform this manipulation when it is empty, otherwise, you could stain yourself with the e-liquid remaining inside. Then, observe, with a magnifying glass if necessary, the recommended power range as well as the value expressed in ohms: they are generally located on the upper part of the resistance. For example, if it is registered 40W-60W, the coil must be used on a box whose power delivered falls within this range. Same thing with the value of the resistance: if it does not correspond to what is recommended on the product sheet or in the user manual, you must change it.

In addition, make sure you have correctly set up your resistance, whether it is inserted like the new Vaporesso or Innokin resistances by pressing on it, or that it is screwed like the classic resistances. Once correctly put on, fill your tank and wait a few minutes for the resistance to soak up the e-liquid correctly. Otherwise, it risks burning and becoming unusable. After performing all these operations, your box should no longer display “No Coil Detected”!
